The Asahi Wakamatsu sake range made by Naka Shuzō are some of the most sought after because of their quality and rarity. This Asahi Wakamatsu is a blend of Omachi rice & Yamada Nishiki rice. Produced in 2009 it has been aged at the brewery for 5 years. The Omachi rice was grown by Matsuura-san himself and the Yamada Nishiki was sourced from a local Tokushima rice farmer. As all of sake brewed at Naka Shuzō are produced with the same technique the rice types and combinations are left to shine. In this case the combination of Omachi & Yamada Nishiki along with the ageing has produced a sake of deep complexity. There is something profound about these sake that still leaves us speechless after tasting. Truly stunning.
